The Deacon Blues Band began performing back in November of 1998 as part of a parish music festival for St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida.  Although it started predominantly as a “blues” band, the group quickly grew and became more popular in the local community and then throughout the entire state of Florida.  In the past two years, the band became more versatile with the addition of a strong horn section and background vocals.  In addition to “Rhythm and Blues”, the band stretched its style from “40’s swing music” to “50’s rock and roll” to “Popular hits” and much more.  As popularity continued to grow over the years, The Deacon Blues Band has performed at over 100 venues including the following of special note:
